I love that you are returning to that childhood activity! Mine is roller skating…hoping all the Vinyasa yoga I have been has improved my balance!

Not quite ready for jumping yet...but hoping to get there soon. I also like the idea of returning to childhood pleasures!

Paying no bills would be the biggest childhood pleasure I would like to return to :)

I gave a prompt recently about childhood games--and started to think about how much more we used to move around--especially different parts of the body! "Playing outside" was a full body exercise routine! Jumping rope sounds like a great idea!

I will report back once I start jumping again. I want to be sure I do it safely. My knees are okay but they aren't twelve years old anymore;-)

Thank you, Julie, for your encouraging news on finding a woman trainer who can help with the residue of a past frozen shoulder. I too need to minimize osteoporosis and have recovered from two excruciating frozen shoulders years ago. I was going to join a gym this fall, after summer swims in our town's outdoor pool, and your account prompts me to explore other options. Happy spring and gardening.

All exercise is good for our bodies, but my recent reading indicates that only weight bearing exercise can improve bone density numbers. The gym you join may have trainers on staff who can show you how to do exercises safely.
